Runes of Magic is getting a new mode that will expand the variety of gameplay even further in the game. The familiar Tower Defense mode, found in many strategy titles, is now available in Runes of Magic, under the name The Visdun Fortress. In the mode, there are two teams, two fortresses and one goal: To despatch hordes of monsters at your opponent until their fortress is levelled. The best way to do this is by using various towers and configurations in a fun PVP feature that further expands the possibilities within Runes of Magic.
The Visdun Fortress video offers a bit of insight into the area and shows the new PvP mode in action.
Two teams, two fortresses and one goal: Send hordes of monsters at your opponent until their fortress is leveled.
The best way to do this is to create towers in different variants and configuration levels. The familiar tower defense mode found in many strategy titles is now available in Runes of Magic under the name The Visdun Fortress.
Upon entering the arena, both teams of three either summon monsters runes of magic gold or take to the battlefield to defend against your opponent’s hordes — using your own hands or the most powerful means, which are the five different towers.
An Ice Tower will slow down the monsters on the way to your fortress. A Lightning Tower can attack five targets simultaneously. And an Arrow Tower attacks individual opponents and causes major damage.
The abilities of these bulwarks can be increased with upgrades. You can treat yourself to an upgrade up to 10 times. The right mix and the perfect placement will decide either victory or defeat. Should a monster summoned by an opponent break through the defense and make it to your own team, it will then lose hit points. The battle is over as soon as a base’s value falls to zero.
